Furry Writers' Guild Forum

Rainfurrest 2015

I did sort of notice the website was unevenly updated. Like the book charity page was still pending and all that.

Canada folks!

Apparently a lot of the props for RF are up in Canada somewhere. If anyone is driving down and will have any room in their car for it, the help will be greatly appreciated.

I’ll get details- and answers to the other two issues- during breakout.

Alright Canada folks! The props are located in Surriey. You can email Loial@rainfurrest.com or theiling@rainfurrest.com for exact location and details! One thing to keep in mind when crossing the border, just tell them you’re transporting props for a themed party.

I spoke with reg and they’ll be crediting you before the convention for the base price. If the credit isn’t there when you register, please contact Sterling IMMEDIATELY so he can go rawr.

Yeeeeeah >.< They know. Not much more to say.

Next meeting is in September. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hopefully the website will be updated before then. :s It still says the current reg price is $25 until you actually go to pre-reg. >.>

When are the props needed by? Trying to decide if I can be of any help in that matter.

Posted my RF schedule to my blog:

Sorry, I thought I answered this x.z
I wasn’t told, but please feel free to ask them directly. They seem like pretty nice people who will really appreciate the help.

Hi everyone

I’ve had it planned for a while but haven’t mentioned it here - I’m getting on a plane in a few days and will also be at Rainfurrest. Really looking forward to it.

JM

I’d be very grateful if someone were to post all the proposed meetups that have been settled upon in one place. I want to make as many as possible! I’m leaving for RF (Long drive, and I’m making stops) in a few hours.

Other than what’s on the list of events for the convention (the FWG Meetup and whatnot), the only two things we have actually “planned” are Munchkin’s sushi thing (http://www.anthroaquatic.com/forum/index.php?topic=716.0 - though you may want to read through the thread because the date and time have been changed a lot) and my meetup, which is really meant for editors (so me, basically) and those who are currently/have recently (within the last couple of years) edited anthologies. That’s all that’s been posted here, anyways.

Thank you very much! It’s appreciated.

Have a good trip Rabbit!

So mentioning this because I know some folks have plans that involve going into Seattle proper: the president of China is going to be in town Tuesday-Thursday. It -shouldn’t- effect the convention proper, but some streets will be closed down and traffic will be hell. It also means things like the light rail might be packed.

This is no joke. I actually did a double take and triple reference it. When the bus drivers this morning warned us that traffic was going to be murder tomorrow due to the arrival of “The president of the People’s Republic of China” and to plan accordingly, any doubts left were gone.

Yay! I already am! Though I stayed in a motel in Nebraska the other night that simply must become part of a story…

Thanks!

You guys are so much awesome. Thanks for making this such a great RF <3

The whole con had their act together, about 10x more so than last year. Really turned out well.

Was a truly wonderful and educational con. Thanks to everyone who made it so!

Thanks to everyone who joined us, hung out with us, conversed with us, and put up with me.

It was a delight to meet people who shared some of my passion for quality anthropomorphic stories and literature, and doubly a delight to put a lot of good faces to names!

Mr. Mandolino: You were really great company and I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Dwale: You were really the pleasant surprise for me at the con. Man, you’re fun. You and me, beer anytime.

Munchkin: You and your boy are great, thank you for being gracious hosts and summoning the energy to socialize with us and keep up smiling faces during the con and after.

UkeShaman: Thank you for coming out and sharing a table with me and Dizcoon, you were good company and you endured us being blowhards with grace and good cheer.

Rechan: Fistbumps, and thanks for hanging out as best you could. You’ve got a sharp mind, and I look forward to reading more work from you in the future.

Kyell: Nice to meet you again in passing, thanks for working your ass off and showing folks you can make a living hoeing this tough row that is writing and publishing.

Sean: Thank you again, so much, for your support and the grace and patience of your husband. Sorry we didn’t get to crack that bottle together. Next time.

Poettigress: Thank you for representing the guild with aplomb, grace, and professionalism. I think you lend our guild presence tremendous legitimacy.

CopperGryphon: Gosh you have the most beautiful book covers. Thank you for coming out and being so kindly and pleasant, and for your forbearance in panels.

Voice: Glad to see you, and hopefully next time it won’t have to be away from our home country.

Yanarra: Likewise, and you’re a heck of a lot of fun anytime I run into you.

Ocean, Nighteyes_Dayspring, everyone else I know I’m forgetting and am terrible and senile and sorry: Thank you for coming out and being part of this event. Was a great time, and I had nothing but good times in the company of peers.

Because of this trip I get to look at this forum in an entirely new way.

Waaah! I’m stuck in a hospital and have to miss all this! I hope that at least my new anthology sold well.

Get well soon, man.
