Well, now I know where we’ll all be hanging out.
I hope you get better. If that’s just not going to happen, then I hope you stay stable.
Fred buddy, anywhere I go that’s got one other Furry or Anime fan, I make sure I put a cup up in your honor. You’re at least half the reason we’re here today.
Anywhere we’ve got furry authors around, there’ll always be a cup raised in your name.
(Usually along the lines of “To Fred Patten, for whom we can blame both anime fans and furries.”)
Fred, we’re already pouring a drink for a couple amazing people who can’t make it. It will be an honor to pour for you.
For those who have been asking, emails should be going out this weekend about writing panels! Good luck to everyone!
One other note: Volunteers are still needed in many departments, including registration, programming, the art show, and artists to run panels! Could pay fully for your registration next year! Please email hr@rainfurrest.com for interest or more information.
Side note: Voice, Bliz said if you or Yan volunteer beyond what you already have, he’s hanging you by your toes x3
We actually had to contact Blitz to make sure they hadn’t scheduled us for any volunteering besides the panels after this post. All figured out now.
I got two of the three spots I wanted, and the two I wanted more. Not bad! The schedule actually looks much more balanced this year. Even though there are several less panels that I personally want to go to this year, there doesn’t seem to be a lot that conflicts.
Props there.
That tends to happen when they’re all shoved into the same room
Just a small head’s up, things are still being shuffled around as a few scheduling conflicts and inquiries arrive, but they’re doing what they can to accommodate as many as they can :3
Well, I’m also comparing this to convention events. Last year, one of the panels I went to (I forget which) was almost barren because of opening ceremonies running late. That won’t happen this year.
It’s not a writing track thing, but I know that Tembroke is disappointed that he has to choose between being in the variety show and going to the panel about how to record a music CD.
I do like that they’ve got the Coyotl Awards right after the FWG Meet & Greet. That makes a lot of sense.

Yeah, that’s a good move. Though I wonder if having Kyell’s panel at the same time as the Meet & Greet will lose us some potential attendees there. But since we are actually having a Meet & Greet, I guess I shouldn’t complain too much.
There’s been a lot of frustration all around -.- Please don’t take this as the official word from RF, but from what I can gather, the main problem is the con is outgrowing the location. It would be amazing if we could get, say, the Convention Center, but they charge exponentially more.
nods I know that same issue came up with the dealer’s room. Whether it’s the schedule or the physical space, at some point there just isn’t enough room to accommodate everybody, and I know they’re doing the best they can.
I’ll be running a panel in the Games Room, Saturday at 4:00pm until 5:00pm, demonstrating the first build of the demo for Laika Dosha, and inviting folks to come and play with the demo and try it out.
For those curious about the project, I hope I’ll see you there!
Kyell Gold’s panel is primarily for people who want to participate in the Writing Competition, but don’t know how to do so. From what I gather it’s going to be a lot more of Kyell and others trying to be a little hands on with the writers in attendance to get things going, so people will be able to filter out and attend the FWG Meet & Greet.
Sorry to be silent on the threads and other places recently, but between work, life, and of course both my hats in Writing/Anthology and Programming in general, I’ve been focused other places.

Honestly, I’m surprised how cheap RF attendance is compared to other cons. Usually it’s like $50-60. I wonder if the con increased that some, it’d make it easier.
I’ll be hosting a panel in the Games Room at 4:00pm on Saturday, September 26th, to introduce the first demo of Laika Dosha.
Patreon sponsors attending will receive special prizes! Come out and enjoy a Q&A with me and editor Sean Rivercritic.
Alright folks, RF meeting this Saturday! Anything you want me to ask or concerns you would like cleared up? I’m still a bit of a bottom feeder there, so to speak, but I can at least try to harass (read: politely ask if the opportunity arises) some answers for you folks.
Been lazy bugging blizleopard about this one.
I placed second in the competition last year, which would get me credit for a normal attendance if I remember correct. However I had already paid for the $80 rate one before I left. I was planning on bumping it up to the $150 one before I got to rainfurrest, but with the collapsing Canadian dollar that little bump of that credit would be much appreciated.
That being said, owie! Curse that dollar. I might have to cut the number of days I am at the con, just to reduce the pain of the hotel room. I have never been a very social person, so sharing is something I have never done before. It is also not something I really want to bother with pursuing given that it is a king sized room after all.
Just a rant/vent/question that I really ought to have pm’ed instead. Silly raven being silly.
