This is excellent - I loved Elizabeth Bear’s tribute especially. (I’ve only read one of her books, but I enjoyed it a great deal.) And the guy who mentioned Hitch Hiker’s in the same breath as WD, since both influenced me hugely around the same time, in the same way.
Elizabeth Bear’s tribute was very close to my own experience. My mother gave me Watership Down when I was about 7. I remember having that paperback till at least my early teens. I read it over and over, the paperback eventually fell in half. As an adult, I bought myself a hardcover edition.
