I worry that an “Around the World” anthology of short stories as written by a mostly North American writer base for a mostly North American audience would rapidly degenerate into “representative species from around the world performing culturally Western normative behaviors in recognizable capital cities of foreign countries” because you can’t fit the requisite worldbuilding to prevent stereotyping in that kind of space, and even if you could, you wouldn’t be writing it for an audience who would necessarily understand it.

I can understand the worry but I also know we have many writers here who don’t live in North America. As well many of us who have families with historical ties to other worldly places. Also, I just have faith in our writers that, should this be the theme, they’ll be creative enough to really do their research and make their story shine.

Wasn’t there a furry origins anthology at some point in the last two years? I might be confusing it as a sub-theme >.<

It looks like some mighty fine theme ideas right there though. Depending on the deadline and inspiration, I might have to try for it
