Ok, enough commenting on other introductions. Time to introduce myself.
My name is Donald, and I’ve been writing, oh, since about the 6th grade, but more seriously since 2007. I’ve had a couple dozen short stories published, mostly online or in small press anthologies. (If anybody wants titles/links, email or PM me.)
When it comes to furry stories, I have two published. “Irula’s Apprentice” is a fantasy piece and appeared in Issue 3 of Renard’s Menagerie. I was so honored to be chosen as the cover story for that! And I only found out much later that the story was also listed as one of the Ursa Major’s recommended reads for 2007.
And “C.Moira’s Choice” has appeared in Ray Gun Revival, and an extended version in Shelter of Daylight. (The extended version is way better…) This sci-fi story is an homage of sorts to the animal people in Cordwainer Smith’s stories. Both of my furry stories have been released in audio version through the Anthro Dreams podcast.
(If you check them out, please let me know what you think – positive or negative. As you all know, writers love scritches-- err, feedback…)
I have a other stories under consideration for a couple of furry anthologies. I’ve submitted a furry piece to a non-furry sword and sorcery anthology, so we’ll see what comes of that. And I have the start of two different furry novels that I really need to finish, one steampunk/weird western, one set in the same universe as “Irula’s Apprentice.” If only I can get my stamina problem under control… (Do they make a Viagra for writers? j/k)
I appreciated the old forums as a place to hang out with other writers of furry fiction and a place where I could brainstorm and help others brainstorm. So far it seems like these forums are even more active – and I think that’s a good thing for all of us!
I look forward to talking to everyone!
PS. My profile name comes from the Esperanto world for lion (leono) – that’s why my greeting/topic title is in Esperanto too! LOL
