Will get another batch sent soon. I’m very happy their submission interface uses BBCode, since I can just cut and paste the same text files I’ve used to upload stuff to FA.

Five more pieces up (full list here). Though they added a violence warning to “The First Winter,” which I found a little odd, but… shrug
I think they’ve done a good job making the site appealing to writers; now the task is to make it easier for readers to find stories (and to drive more readers to the site). I’d like to see tags used more extensively than they are now, for one thing.
Still nowhere near a payout, of course, but according to the consensus from my other online writing group, it’s generally taking at least 1-6 months to earn the first payout, and it’s a lot slower now that there are more pieces on the site.
Just bumping this to ask – Ryffnah, since you had the free story last week, did you see any bump from that in terms of sales of your other stories on QR?
Yes. I saw a slight bump in people reading my other stories, received a couple tips on “Weremoose,” and was paid $5 by QuarterReads. (The free story of the week is a paying gig.) So, I went from having earned slightly less than $5 from all my stories on QuarterReads to having earned a little more than $12. So, not a lot, but sales I wouldn’t have made otherwise. I think it’s a very nice place for reprints.
Okay, good. Was just curious. I’ve been stuck at $2.73 for a while now, but then I haven’t uploaded anything new lately.
Looks like Quarter Reads is done, unless someone else takes it over:

Just a note that, according to a Facebook post made by the site owner, the site is now down and will remain down (there was a possibility of someone else taking it over, but that looks dead in the water at the moment too). He says that all writers who have reached the pay threshold should have received their pay, and “writers below that will be paid, but it will take longer.” For myself, I’ll be very surprised if I ever see that $2.73, which obviously isn’t a big deal in monetary terms, but still annoying.
It took them quite a while to get around to paying me the ~$10 that I’d earned, but they did eventually get to it. So, if he says he’s going to pay you, I think there’s a decent chance of it.
