Furry Writers' Guild Forum

*Perches on the Telephone wires and peers in through the window*

Hello everyone, my name is Koakai. I hesitate to call myself a writer, since writers actually write, but I figure I would stick my head into the guild’s window anyways.

I just got back from lurking in the panels at Rainfurrest, where somehow I managed to place second in the writing competition. This is something that utterly amazes me, since I wrote that story just to prove I could both write one and submit it. I guess I need to stop drowning out those voices in my head by listening to podcasts.

I just wanted to say hi, and to note my lurking status. If my forum viewing habits are like normal, I will find myself not visiting here as often as I ought to.

Hi and welcome! (And congrats on taking second in the competition, too.)

Congrats on getting second place in the competition! I won second place with a story two years ago, and then it got an Ursa Major nomination and won a Coyotl Award after getting published in the RF anthology. So, second place can be a pretty good place.

By the way, great subject line for an introduction thread.

Hello and welcome. Enjoy your stay and feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Greets!

So you were the one who took second place! Huge congrats! I was one of the HMs, most notably the one where someone called out, “Why don’t you stand up?” and another answered, “She already is!” X3

I do hope you’ll submit your story into the RF anthology. It’s how I got my very first publication, Tech Flesh (which recieved an HM last year too XD).

I blame far too much MUSHing when I was younger. I always want to stick some sort of emote or action in places like that.

Hah. I was sitting in what was close to a 2 hour border line up. Ah sunny Sundays. If I had remembered how bad the border got when the sun was out, I would have stuck around for the ceremony.

I figure I want to throw a few random ass comments about me in here as well.

My hobbies that are not writing include geocaching, and silver smithing. I have a black smith forge set up at the family cabin but have not really gotten much of a chance to play with it since setting it up. I have recently fallen down the rabbit hole of fountain pens, something I blame Neil Gaiman for, since I saw a twitter post about a pen shop and got curious. One google visit later and I am lusting after inks in colours I never knew existed.

I am slowly building a tiny house on wheels since I came to the conclusion that I live in a very small footprint in my condo and want to have the freedom of being able to move simply by hooking the house up to a truck.

I listen to far too many podcasts, and play way too many games when I ought to be writing.

Ooo yay random tidbits!

My wolf and I hope to someday live in a mobile home for that very reason <3 We’re trying to save it for retirement though so we can have kippies first XD
