Inspiring art, or, "There's a story there somewhere..."

Okay, this is just a photograph… But it’s a great photograph.

‘The fox cub mascot of No.32 Squadron at Humieres Aerodrome, St Pol, France, 5 May 1918.’

…OK then o.O

Interesting post-apocalyptic piece here. Could almost be a book cover…

Oh my goodness. That Mer-cat is the best thing in the world.

A little Cowboy Bebop-esque fun. http://corgis-in-space.tumblr.com/

Is there an anthology theme here? Mimicry.

Brian Staveley tells an anecdote on today’s Tor Books blog about how he once attended a party where a drunk latched onto him and began yammering nonstop about the emerald ash borer, a small insect that, to hear the drunk tell it, was killing all the emerald ash trees in Vermont and would probably go on to kill all the trees in the world. Staveley says that, before he became a s-f author, he would’ve brushed off the drunk and gone away. Now he thought, “I can use this,” and he encouraged the drunk to go on, making mental notes for a new s-f novel.

Moral: be alert for possible story ideas in everything (or: Where do you get your ideas?).

OH! OH! I HAVE LOTS THINGS FITTING FOR THIS TOPIC! LOTS OF THINGS. SO MANY THINGS.
