How to write out you find out your on a will?

I am working on a project, where you as the main character find out you are part of a will from your grandparent, whom though this you find out they are dead. It’s sad because its because your parents was trying to not have them involved in your life.

What I am asking is the process of the will. Is there a letter that notifies you that you are in a will or anything like that? It is supposed to be a point to start the events of the story.

Generally speaking a will shall be administered by the executor of the deceased estate. That can be a close family member, or in the case of very wealthy or complicated estates a lawyer. When the will is written up contact information for anyone mentioned in the will should have been included. If the individual mentioned in the will doesn’t have any contact info, the lawyer or a private detective could research their whereabouts
