How Social Media Changed the Way We Read Books (link)

I’ve seen a lot of writing about author/reader interaction, author online persona, etc., from writers’ perspectives, dealing with do’s and don’ts and turnoffs and such, but this made for an interesting read about interacting with authors online from the reader’s perspective:

(Though as far as the comments go – I hope Hallie never reads my Twitter feed. I’m sure she’d find all my cat-related retweets “inappropriate within a professional context.” And I admit I can’t help but read “To the public, a certain image is necessary.” in a snooty fake-British old lady accent.)

I, for one, like your cat-related retweets. It means I get to see the best of the kitten pics without following kitten twitter accounts myself.
