Introductions

Hello all!

So, at the rather insistent behest of my friend Televassi, I am finally posting an introduction.
I’ve really only just started trying my hand at writing; bad memories about English classes in school many many eons ago (30+ years!) have been the demon preventing me from giving it a shot. But the exhortations of my wife as well as friends have pushed me to do so!

I’m a programmer (video games) by trade, so this is a bit of a new area for me. I have always wanted to tell stories, however! So far I have not written much - only two brief chapters regarding the backstory of my character (which I have posted on FA), and a just-finished short story set in the same world.

I’m starting in the genre of tribal/primitive fantasy, because that is what appeals to me personally. :slight_smile: Eventually I hope to branch out a bit more, as well as have the balls to actually post my writing attempts here for critique!

It’s funny (and tragic), but most writers have issues writing due to their experiences with the mighty red pen in High School!

Indeed he is!

It was not so much the red pen, I think. I just hated being forced to write. I was miserable doing so, it was a struggle, and I loathed it.
And thusly, nothing I wrote was any good whatsoever, which just exacerbated the situation.

I have, a long time ago! I was a much younger Utunu then, and I remember enjoying them. My particular world is not quite that primitive, but definitely does have the ‘nascent primeval world’ feel coupled with the ‘devoid of civilization’ feel.
