I’ve been exploring these mediums recently and thought I’d make a thread for people to share recommendations and learn about what’s out there! I’m really new to reading/playing these, and I’d love to hear more about what other people have enjoyed! 
My favorite visual novel that I’ve tried so far is the science fiction tale Laika Dosha. http://www.laikadosha.com/ It’s in the demo stage at the moment, but I really hope there will be more someday soon! cough cough pokes Bahumat cough Other than that, I’ve barely scratched the surface of what’s out there. I do know that HTBH and Goal Publications have produced a lot of popular titles, like Blackgate. https://www.patreon.com/blackgategame There’s also a visual novel database that lists a whole slew of titles of all kinds, which you can search by genre, content rating, etc. https://vndb.org/
In terms of “interactive fiction” titles, I also don’t know much, but I’ve been enjoying this one called Welcome to Moreytown: https://www.choiceofgames.com/welcome-to-moreytown/ I guess you could call it urban, near-future furry science fiction, with a dark edge. I thought the worldbuilding was pretty well-done, and the choices you make affect the story in interesting ways.
