Furry Writers' Guild Forum

Author Newsletter Links

I feel this might be the most appropriate place for this…

Anyway, it came up in the chat that a number of us have newsletters about us and our work. I thought we’d start a thread for people to post a signup link to their newsletters!

Here’s mine–it’ll be monthly, gryfony, and always brief: http://eepurl.com/bHtzND

Here’s a link to mine: http://www.mcahogarth.org/newsletter/

I do giveaways, coupons, specials, and news. 4-6 times a year.

Mine is at http://eepurl.com/bo9GQX

It’s more of a mailing list than a newsletter, since I don’t keep to a schedule at the moment, but signing up gets you a free copy of Real Dragons Don’t Wear Sweaters (via Smashwords coupon), and I do giveaways, news about new releases, sneak peeks of new fiction, and whatever else.

(Also, since this is a member-only forum, I’m going to move this topic to a forum where everyone can see it.)

Not that my writing career is at a stage where I need to start my own newsletter, but I notice that all three posts so far use MailChimp.

Is that the best thing out there to run a Newsletter? The only game in town? How easy is it to use?

Here’s mine as well. I only use it for reveals, and release news, but signing up will get you a free anthology.

There are other services – Mad Mimi I think is the other big one that’s free instead of just being a limited-time trial – but MailChimp is the one I see used the most by individuals and companies, and I use it both for my personal list and the FWG list. I’ve found it relatively easy to use, as long as I remember to delete their sample text out of the templates.

Professionals do that too. Part of my job is to send out HTML emails, so whenever I receive one with lipsum text or some other error, I imagine someone like me at the other end, frozen with horror.

Poe mentioned this thread to me, so I’ll toss mine up too.

Monthly newsletter that you can sign up for HERE.

The newsletter itself goes out roughly once a month or so.

I’ve recently started a quarterly newsletter. And as I need to finish up the next issue soon, I thought it would be a good time to post a link:
